To Paris! 

In the fall of 2016 as I was praying for the Lord to give me a glimpse of what He had for me after my DTS, He kept showing me pictures of the Eiffel Tower! I did not know what this meant (did He want me to do a secondary school there? staff a DTS there? move there?!), but since it was not applicable to my time in Kauai, I laid it down at His feet and all but forgot about it. 

In March after I returned home, Abba started bringing it up again! It felt like every time I turned around, Paris was being mentioned. After God had my attention, He reminded me that one of my DTS teachers told us about an outreach in Paris in July, so I reached out to him. After praying and applying to this outreach, the Lord has given me the green light! So in mid-July I will go be a part of the 2017 Summer of Service, Paris je t’aime (I love Paris). 

During this outreach, missionaries from around the world will gather to bring light to the darkness of France. In the morning we will have quiet times and teaching sessions; in the afternoons we will get into ministry groups and take to the streets; and in the evenings we will all come together for open-air evangelism! These two weeks will be packed with high expectation of letting the Lord do whatever He wants through us as we submit to being His hands and feet. 

Some people have asked if France is a place that needs outreach, and the answer is a definite yes! Not only has it been the victim of several terrorist attacks, but a large percentage of their population is atheist/agnostic and their Muslim population is steadily increasing. However, we know that Jesus’s light can overpower any darkness (John 1:5) and the hope He offers compares to nothing this world can offer (Romans 5:2).

Finances: The outreach is only about $600, but the plane ticket is around $1700, so I am hosting two fundraisers to give anyone the opportunity to donate and get something in return for their kindness and generosity! 

Fundraiser #1: Through FundTheNations, I am selling t-shirts! The first shirt is seafoam green Comfort Colors (super comfy + durable) with white font that says, “hosanna.” This word means “highest praise.” Jesus is the only one worthy of our praise, our Lamb and Redeemer and Intercessor! In this season He has challenged me to praise Him even when everything seems hopeless. What God has asked me to do in this season looks like foolishness to the world, but even when I don’t understand His ways, He is worthy of all my hosanna!

The second shirt is a black soft shirt with white font that says, “Jésus est la lumière” (Jesus is the light) on top of a lightbulb. As I mentioned earlier, Jesus’s light cannot be overcome by darkness! When He walks in the room, darkness has to flee. Glory!

Fundraiser #2: At Winnfield 1st Assembly on Friday, May 19, I am hosting a Family Game Night! Admission is free and there are three big prizes available. At this game night, attendees will be able to donate, purchase food, or order one of the t-shirts to help out with funds. Anyone is welcome to come and play as they please, and each time you play a game, your name will be entered for a chance to win one of the three prizes!

I want to send out a huge thank you!!! to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have supported God’s call on my life. Being a missionary brings me more joy than I can express, and every day I just stare at Jesus in wonder at His worthiness. It’s such a blessing to be able to say yes to going wherever Abba says, whether that’s the poorest slums in Asia, the darkest city in Europe, or the most familiar neighborhoods right at home. The gospel deserves to be shared, and I’m honored to share it. To God be the glory, forever.
